Doing What You Love!

Hey yall! I hope the day finds each and every one of you living your best lives!

Sometimes, we stray away from the things we love to do for life reasons. We get busy with the hustle and bustle of daily things and many times, we forget to stop and do the things that make life that much sweeter.

I was reminded of that a few days ago. I was invited to teach a group of young ladies (fifth graders) how to decorate cupcakes(the thing i love😊). Have you ever been in a classroom with 30 chatty little ladies? Lol. You get to see so many different personalities. Happy, excited, anxious, shy, and I’m here for it! Yall, these girls were amazing. Their mentors(school counselors) are providing a safe space for them to discuss life lessons and prepare them for what may address them in life along with a few fun activities.

The group is called Girls with Pearls. They meet weekly for an hour or so. During that time, they discuss life and ways to help them accomplish their goals. Actuvities are completed to keep the girls engaged. I think every school should be so fortunate.

Shout out to Ms. Tiffany & Ms. Meranda, thank you for taking the time to mentor these young ladies. Thank you for allowing Sheca Cooks to provide a fun activity. If every young girl could have wonderful role models, the world would be a kinder place.

Y’all know what I normally say to close out. Smile at someone just because, say hello, ask someone how they’re doing, basically BE KIND. You may not know how far your kind gesture will go for someone who needs a pick me up. Kindness doesn’t cost a thing! It’s absolutely FREE! Enjoy your day and do something that you love people!

Author: Sheca Cooks

Hi, I'm Sheca and cooking is my largest passion. Who says you can't love more than one thing...or at least try other things...food is the love that binds us all together. We all have to eat! So please take some time and cook with those you love. I'm a 40 something mom, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Basically...I'm just like you. The woman who goes to work 40 or more hours per week and still finds the time to cook for those I love. I'm a country girl...a southern country girl at that and proud of it...lol...I was raised in a small town on the coast of North Carolina near the awesome beaches in Brunswick County. You know the place when you drive through and blink, you may just miss it. I'm okay with that. I've come to enjoy the quiet peace that my hometown offers me after a long work day in Wilmington, NC. I'm surrounded by family! Thank you for checking out my blog and I hope you enjoy the information I place here. Maybe even learn something along the way or get a good chuckle or both. Laughter is food for the soul, we all need that in our lives.
